The 4th edition of Propaganda and Persuasion contains revised and updated persuasion and propaganda theories and recent studies. The coverage of theory is expanded, and new examples within the theory and methods chapters have been added, as well as new coverage on the global war against terrorism, US attempts to "sell" itself to the Arab countries, and the question of ideological propaganda in a polarized mass media system. The authors incorporate examples from Jihad and US propaganda after September 11, 2001, and include new as well as revised case studies. Amongst the key features: updated persuasion and propaganda theories and case studies; more in-depth looks at rhetoric and theory and methodology chapters encourages students to use a systematic approach when analyzing propaganda; and expanded history of the use of persuasion and propaganda with additional sections on terrorism, the 2004 election, and the war in Iraq enhances understanding by putting today's practices in greater context.
